Sanitary Paper Roll Holder
The present invention relates to a sanitary paper roll holder and, in particular, to a sanitary paper roll holder comprising a shaft and a roll holder rotatably arranged on the shaft, adapted to receive a sanitary paper roll with a core tube centrally arranged in the hygiene paper roll. In this context, the term hygiene paper roll is particularly used as a toilet roll, but also other types of paper rolls used for hygienic purposes, e.g. kitchens and other places will be considered as covered by this term.
There are many designs of hygiene paper roll holders in the market, all of which have the common ground that they can take up a roll of toilet paper, and where a center tube is arranged in the center of the toilet roll. The object of the present invention is to prevent the roll of toilet paper from collapsing during use, so that the toilet roll can easily and relatively frictionally rotate about a shaft, thereby facilitating the removal of toilet paper from the toilet roll. Thus, while the known sanitary paper roll holders are provided with reasonable operation, it is still often the case that even the core tube on the toilet rolls is deformed from the optimum circular cross-section, so as to obtain a uniform resistance to the removal of toilet paper from the toilet roll. In addition to making it difficult for the user to extract exactly the desired amount of toilet paper from the toilet roll, in some severe cases this can cause the web of toilet paper to be torn off before the desired amount of toilet paper is pulled off the toilet roll.
As hygiene paper roll holders are often used in places where a high degree of cleanliness is desired, while placing high demands on the design quality of the roll holders, any new development in this area includes a high degree of creativity to meet the different and often contradictory requirements of functionality and design.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a sanitary paper roll holder or toilet paper roll holder which, to a greater extent than known products in the art, ensures that a smooth and safe peel of paper web can be obtained from the sanitary paper roll holder.
This is achieved according to the present invention in that the roller holder has means ten! retaining the sanitary paper roll against rotation around the roller holder, and by providing a friction brake to increase the friction between the shaft and the roller holder.
Hereby, the friction to be overcome to pull paper web from the sanitary paper roll holder is defined primarily by the friction provided by the friction brake, the toilet roll does not rotate about the roll holder during the normal removal of paper web from the toilet roll, but on the contrary, rotation occurs between the roll holder and the roll holder. sanitary paper roll holder. This will cause a substantially more uniform friction than is the case when the toilet roll rotates directly on a shaft and the friction obtained will be independent of the state of the core tube in the center of the toilet roll.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the roller holder is formed as a pipe, and at least one pressure member extending radially outwardly from the tube at least one frictional surface and spring means adapted to actuate the friction surface substantially radially outwardly relative to the tube, and wherein the friction surface in its substantially outermost position is arranged to abut against the inside of the core tube of the sanitary paper roll. This provides a simple construction in which the tube of the roller holder can enclose the shaft, thus enabling the friction brake to be relatively inaccessible from the outside.
It is further advantageous if the friction in the friction brake is adjusted such that, on normal pulling of sanitary paper from a sanitary paper roll mounted on the roll holder, on the one hand it is so small that it will result in the hygiene paper roll being rotated in rotation. relative to the roll holder, while the roll holder rotates relative to the shaft and, on the other hand, is so large that it stops the roll holder and the sanitary paper roll from continuing to rotate when no additional hygiene paper is pulled from the sanitary paper roll. This makes the peel of the paper web so light and free that it can be done with one hand alone, thus ensuring the most hygienic application possible.
In a further advantageous embodiment where the tube has a plurality and preferably more than 3 longitudinal slots along the tube, and where the pressure means extend through the slots on the tube and are externally exerted by the tube under resilient influence of spring elements disposed within the tube, it is achieved that spring elements and other moving parts are placed on the inside of the tube so that cleaning is facilitated and thus further hygienic use of the sanitary paper roll holder will be achieved.
In this context, it is particularly practical and easy to clean if the tube is generally of circular cross section, and in that the pressure means are formed as slats extending through the slots and having a length and width corresponding to the corresponding length of the slots. width.
In order to facilitate mounting of a sanitary paper roll on the sanitary paper roll holder, the slats according to a preferred embodiment of the production can be designed so that at one end they are tapered or rounded in such a way that they form guide surfaces for mounting the sanitary paper roll along the front of the sanitary paper roll. with the tube facing the slats.
The sanitary paper roll holder according to the invention can be formed with a very small surface if it has a first end, on which there is arranged a mounting flange for mounting the sanitary paper roll holder on a substantially vertical surface, and a second free end on which the roller holder is designed for axial displacement of the core tube on a sanitary paper roll over the roll holder. Thereby, when mounted directly on e.g. a wall, appear as a tap projecting from the wall. When a toilet roll is fitted, only a very small portion of the sanitary paper roll holder will be visible to the user, thus providing a very special design experience while providing a high degree of protection against the hygiene paper roll holder is soiled.
This latter hygienic effect is further enhanced if the mounting flange has an outer periphery which corresponds substantially to the cross-section of the roller holder and that the roller holder extends substantially throughout the length of the sanitary paper roll holder from the first end to the second end, and in a further embodiment of the the tube on the roll holder at the other end of the sanitary paper roll holder is sealed with a plate.
A further preferred embodiment of the sanitary paper roll holder is obtained if its shaft is formed as a shaft tube and the mounting flange is mounted on one end of the shaft tube, and a hole is provided in the mounting flange for inserting a mounting screw, which hole extends through the mounting flange from the shaft tube interior. As a result, all mounting parts are invisible to the user, and this further contributes to the fact that all function components are located within the pipe forming part of the roller holder.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing a toilet roll holder according to the invention in a longitudinal section of its shaft.
FIG. 2 is a drawing showing the embodiment of FIG. 1 is a side view of the toilet roll holder.
FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the embodiment of FIG. 1 in a cross-sectional section according to FIG. First
FIG. 4 is an exploded drawing of the toilet roll holders shown in the previous figures.
5 5GB 2007 00155 U3 In fig. 1 and 3, sectional views of an embodiment of the invention are thus seen, the section of FIG. 1 is inserted in and longitudinally with the center axis 19 of the shaft of the toilet roll holder 1, and the section of FIG. 3 are transverse thereof. It will be seen that the shaft 2 is arranged to be fixed via a mounting screw 13 to a support such as a vertical wall or other. The mounting flange 10 is here assembled with a further mounting flange 5 and a friction element 20, together forming a friction brake, the mounting flanges 10 and 5 press against the friction element 20 which is fixed to the roller holder 3 via a pin screw 14. This allows the friction element 20 to rotate about the center axis 19 of the shaft 2, and as the mounting flanges 10 and 5 are held against rotation of the mounting screw 13, friction will occur. between the friction element and the mounting flanges 10 and 5. This construction is designed so that the friction can be adjusted to provide the desired resistance to rotation of the roller holder 3. It is clear that this embodiment is preferred due to the simple construction and high reliability, but it will be obvious to indicate other friction brake embodiments on the basis of the recognition of the present production journey.
In the interior of the roller holder 3 there is arranged a guide matrix 15 comprising 4 grooves 21 for receiving a pressure means 4 in each groove 21, and the springs 8 arranged for each pressure means which actuate the pressure means 4 in the direction from the tube 6. Thus, a toilet roll, which is passed over the roller holder, first bump into the pressure means 4, where it will, via the guide surfaces 9 on each of the pressure means 4, cause the pressure means 4 to be pressed against the spring force provided by the springs 8 and thus the pressure means are pressed radially inwardly into the tube 6 through the slots. 16. When a toilet roll (not shown) is displaced completely over all the pressure means, then the pressure means, with their friction surfaces 7, press against the inside of the core tube of the toilet roll, thereby obtaining a retaining force. According to the invention, it is desirable that this friction, and the friction provided by the friction brake, be aligned such that the friction of the friction brake by normal extraction of toilet paper from a toilet roll mounted on the roll holder is, on the one hand, so small that it will result in the toilet roll being held against rotation relative to the roll holder 3, while the roll holder 3 rotates relative to the shaft 2, and on the other hand is so large as to stop the roll holder 3 and the toilet roll from continuing. to rotate when no additional toilet paper is pulled from the toilet roll.
In FIG. 2, the same embodiment of the production is seen from the side, and it is seen here that the slats 4 extend through the pipe 6 on the roller holder 3, and since it is only the components seen in this drawing, except the mounting screw 13, which will be visible to the user, it is clear that in the present invention there is provided a toilet roll holder which is extremely hygienic and easy to clean, most of the functional elements being stored within the tube 6 of the roller holder 3.
In FIG. 4, the same embodiment of the invention is described at last, but shown here as an exploded drawing. From this it is easily seen that especially the roller holder 3 comprising the pipe is easy to produce in e.g. stainless steel, which is very suitable for the purpose due to its ease of cleaning and design qualities. At the same time, all the functional elements except the pressure means 4 and the control matrix 15 are substantially rotationally symmetrical and, after assembly of the toilet roll holder, are completely stored within the roller holder 3, so that lower demands on materials and surfaces can be made, but on the other hand these elements can be more easily optimized for to ensure their mechanical function otherwise. As far as the pressure means and the control matrix are concerned, these elements are easy to produce by extrusion and molding respectively, and thus, in total production, a toilet roll holder has been obtained, which satisfies greatly the requirements for functionality and design, while being extremely hygienic and easy to use in use.
